The matrix reloaded, did it live up to its hype? - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Well, the answer is definatly yes. If you are looking for a movie with mind blowing special effect than this is your movie! From the slow-motion bullet dodging to high speed chases the movie has a lot of thrills. The action and fighing sequences can get a bit repetitive though, and so drag on a little too long, but are still pretty fun to watch. The acting is pretty good, but not supurb. The story is good, but may be hard to follow because there is no explanation in the beginning that explains the first matrix movie. All in all though The Matrix Reloaded will probably live up to your expectations. With more action and special effects than the first the Matrix Reloaded is definatly a movie that you should see.
Does not live up to its hype! - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
The Matrix is definitely one of my favourite movies ever, it was simply groundbreaking: it was something nobody ever did before. But the second installment is quite disappointing. Most of the time i was wondering whether i was watching a Playstation game or watching a movie :-/ Although most effect are great (like the high way scene) other effects are way overdone (the Smiths vs Neo). The story is nothing special & the philosophycal (sp?) talk is really out of place here, it made some dialogues ridiculous. The thing is, i don't really know what to think of the movie: i didn't really like it, but it wasn't bad either. I guess i'm just disappointed & angry cuz they promissed us this big, fantastic movie...But i didn't really see that when i watched the movie. I know a lot of people who are disappointed, yet some absolutely loved it. I think this movie is worth a C+, but i gave it a B-. Why? cuz somewhere deep down when i see the trailer & certain scenes..i still feel like watching it for a 2nd time. I'm waiting for the 3rd installment, hoping i won't be disappointed.
Hi - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews

Not quite good as the original, but still great - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
The Matrix story continues, but this time there are less guns, since Neo is Mr. Tough guy he doesnt need a gun. He just punches guys and then flies away. Alot of the groundbreaking effects have been improved on, now theey Matrix code in the world looks cooler, with golden effects and whatnot. And transforming Smiths look better as do the many clones. Although Reloaded is very very very good. Excellent. It's not as great as teh original. But one cool thing is the city of Zion, you get to see it along with many other new cool characters. This summer blockbuster is definetly worth the money. Just amke sure you've seen the first one or you'll be in teh dark and make sure your smart enough to understand the plot. It expands apon the original.
Better than the rest - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Just like LOTR and T3, Matrix prolongs its run with yet another sequel that needs to be made, which is a good thing. Finally, questions are answered about Zion and Neo, with surprising twists worth my time. Great character development, excellent visuals, and good action scenes.
Lot's more action - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
The 2nd chapter of the insanely popular Matrix Trilogy explodes onto the screen with another powerful beginning featuring Trinity.
There are some flaws that the first film did not have that this one does however. The script isn't as good, and the acting isn't as good also.
But nonetheless, The Matrix Reloaded entertains with a greatness that few films do these days.
My favorite scene was the highway sequence, boast amazing visuals, and high-flying stunts.
When Neo fought the Smith Clones, the action was very high tension, and extremely eye opening.
There is one thing that kind of gets me though, I didn't think that there was enough of an explanation for how Smith came back.
Other then that, I thought that The Matrix Reloaded was a very entertaining movie.

Better than the first - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
As a fan of The Matrix, I had to see the sequel, many of my friends said it was the bomb, and many said it sucked. I went to see it and I thought it was freakin awesome. The chase scene is the best part of the movie, some may not agree, but I think it is just as good as the crane chase scene in T3. The story is a little confusing, but you understand it the more you watch it. The effects are amazing and the acting and fight scenes are spectacular, although a little fake at times. This movie was badass, I havent seen Revolutions yet, but I hope to very soon.
A strong continuation of the trilogy - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Often times, the second section of any trilogy is the weakest. The first one sets the story and introduces the plot/characters/amazing VFX/whatever, and the third one will sum things up, and is often the most exciting of the three. However, the second part is just... there. However, this generalization is very untrue for 'The Matrix Reloaded'.
The visual effects in 'Reloaded' differ, but are still similar to the first Matrix. Bullet-time is taken to a whole new level, especially during the highway chase scene, when many cars and trucks are blown up and/or crash into each other. The burly brawl is a sight to see, with Neo fighting over 100 Smiths ((and kicking their asses)), which uses bullet-time, but it is just crazy. It is amazing to see what the VFX team working on all three Matrixes can do.
The plot, while not moved along an extensive amount, leaves us with many questions, which were good for heated discussion between May 15th and 11.05. Now that we know why Neo was able to stop the sentinals, it is awesome to see the corelations between that and other things that happened in 'Reloaded'.
Possibly the best of the three, 'The Matrix Reloaded' does great justice to the best trilogy ever.
This movie kicks ass! - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
No one could ever repeat the first Matrix's atmosphere. The matrix was introduced in the first movie and that's it, you can't have something mysterious in the sequel. The sequel took off from one point in the story, and the movie could not have ended except with the abrupt way it did. So you had to go to the theaters knowing these facts. The only thing i wanted out of this movie is the story-line, i wanted to know what's going to happen to Neo and the entire human race that has been enslaved. The plot was very interesting, the machines are invading Zion and there is no way the defenses of Zion could hold them off. The only hope is Neo. WARNING! This is a spoiler, so if you haven't watched the movie dont continue reading!!
Neo and Morpheus and Trinity had to find the path for the main frame. At first they were looking for the Oracle. Then, the Oracle tells Neo to get the keymaker, that is where the fighting and chase scenes really kick ass. After fighting the Merovingian to get the Keymaker, Neo faces the Machines' mainframe which tells him that "The One" is another measure of control in the Matrix. In the first movie, you thought Neo is going to be the One without any reason. Here the plot thickens, and Neo has to make the choice, either to kill the entire human race, or to kill Zion. He chooses to kill the entire human race. I think the plot was very exciting, and i think the fights were the best i've ever seen in a movie. The Agent smith fight for example, you can't find any fight that's this brilliant, i didnt want it to end. The chase scenes, and the Neo flying scenes really rock. I think this is the best movie this year. Try not to think of it as an individual movie. It is a continuation of the Matrix saga. If you're a matrix fan, and you liked the story of the first, you'll definetely like this one.

D - for dumb humor - Wedding Crashers Reviews
I am simply let down everytime I get talked into going to an american made comedy. Who's rating these comedy movies... post pubescent boys and girls? I guess if you think bare breasted women, stupid cliches' and just plain dumb writing is funny... more power to you. I'll stick to the foreign comedies, until Hollywood can produce something more funny than this type of garbage.

Matrix crap-loaded - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
What a let down! Deeply disappointed. What was great about The Matrix was it had a great story line. Brilliant visuals and magnificent fight sequences. What went wrong in the sequel? Where do you want me to begin? First of all the start of the movie. The scene where Trinity jumps from the building is so slow that after sometime you start looking at the ceiling. After that the Zion, why O why they have to use sex in it. Didn't make any kind of sense. They showed that humans having diarguments because they are humans, they are supposed to be nervous and blah blah....we already know that don't we? Sex scene wasn't sexy at all and way too long. In the first installment there was a destination to go, a place to find, a thing to discover and the reason what I believe The Matrix was so hit was because of its dead ends. There were many moments where it looked like Neo and its gang are in deep trouble and they will not be able to get out of this mess and after that they overcome difficulties quite brilliantly. In this episode, the guy can fly beat the crap out of Smith(s) so he is like unbeatable. Why give him so much challenges then? Last but not least, the preching part entire movie is like a class to teach you about religion (Jews religion in particular) and that's about it. It alienates people of different race and religion. What a crappy movie. By the way, if you haven't guessed it I believe Neo will die in the Revolutions coz there are just so many hints pointing in this movie about it. So, that's all folks a nice franchise come to an end. People got screwed for no good reason.
The best review you'll read today... - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
The Matrix Reloaded is possibly the biggest disapointment in film this year. There was no way a film of this bog-standard could live up to its pre-release hype, which is exactly why so many matrix fans or filmgoers were disapointed. The plot itself is actually quite good, but poor execution means that the film flawed in this area. The first part of the film is ridiculously slow and will leave you waiting for the film to pick up. It finally picks up with an outrageously over-the-top fight sequence - which is entertaining, don't get me wrong, but completley irrelevant to the mood of the film. Of course, like all summer blockbusters, this film has more pyro and explosions than bonfire night. Keeps you awake, but you never feel like your gripping the story and as soon as these moments are over, your always waiting for the next one and it continues in that same pattern. There are also pointless scenes in the film. One of these is most notably when there is a man standing in some kind of strange robotic mechanism, which seemingly has no relevance or connection to the characters or film at all, and indeed, it does not. I think money, would most certainly have been wasted on these scenes. In a nutshell, visually stunning, but provides little else. A shame that the original 'Matrix' was spoiled by this excremental product. Way too slow in places and just generally disapointing. I wish they had made this film better and thier big mistake was to make 'The Matrix Revolutions' before doing any market research so i fear that they will not improve on thier mistakes and that Revolutions will also be another disapointment. We'll wait and see.
They didnt have to do this to the matrix.... - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Everything that Matrix was, Matrix 2 flushes it down the drain. It is one of of the worst sequels to hit the planet. Haphazard storyline, third rate special effects, redundant and really irritating dialogues are the highlights of this half hearted effort, made possibly just to cash in on the hype of the original. This was definitely below par for the Wachowski brothers. The special effects at many places appears to be flat out CG, Morpheus speaks a lot thoughout, thus loses the laconic charm he maintained in the first part. Zion is a giant moshpit(really really pathetic!!!). The stunts previously developed are grossly overused. The script ran out of vocabulary so there are just a few words like control, destiny and choice thrown around generously, which really gets on your nerves. Major dissapointment.. and matrix 3 now has one less viewer!!!

Missing something... - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
I've heard about a million people talk about how philosophically rich this movie is--in addition to its visuals--but frankly, the plot was confusing not because it's so "advanced", but because it's simply full of holes.
As Ebert said, the Matrix started with a really cool concept, then shifted to simply presenting excuses for computer enhanced action sequences. This movie contains plenty of action, but the "powers" of Neo are as poorly defined as the nature of the Matrix itself. The idea presented in the first Matrix movie (remeniscent of Descartes) wasn't all that hard to grasp--a computer generated dream world, made to keep people in check. But "Reloaded" adds layer and twist after twist and layer until what's real and what isn't is so garbled even the writers don't seem to have an idea.
Overall, it's worth seeing for the action and visual sequences alone, but definitely not as good as I was expecting.
It ain't got nothing to do with color or iq - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
This movie is just bad, it's like they tried to make a friggin' philosophy class into an action movie for chrissake! How many ways can I say it? This POS ain't worth anyones time. I want my time and my money reloaded!
Could this have been more of a letdown?i think not - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Don't waste your money on this garbage, wait till it comes out on free TV. They way overhyped this movie.

The phenomenon that is the matrix (trilogy) - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
A warning. Next time you eat something with a spoon, keep in mind that that spoon may not exist. Right now, as you are reading this review, ask yourself is that air you're breathing? Next time you see a white rabbit, remember to follow it. Wake up. Knock-knock. You are a slave. The desert of the real awaits. The red pill is your ticket to freedom. Emancipate yourself. Are humans mammals or a virus of this planet? You decide. It is your choice to make. But... Does choice exist? Or have you already made up your mind? Do you know? Does anybody?
The above mentioned are just some of the analogies/one-liners from the Matrix movies. It is rarity to find a person who has not heard and does not know of these. The point of including them into this review is to show how ubiquitously the Matrix movies have permeated our culture in only four years. Star Wars, Terminator, The Godfather...some of the other movies (trilogies) that have had a huge cultural impact. Comparing the Matrix trilogy (I'm taking the liberty of calling it a trilogy, as we await for "Revolutions") to these legends would be unsubstantiated at this point in time, as it is too premature. The Matrix movies have yet to stand the test of time, but I am of firm belief that they will. In fact, I believe that in some 20-30 years, the Matrix trilogy will be a bigger legend than any of the aforementioned ever were. The Matrix movies aren't the type of acheivement that will resonate in the future only by the cool one-liners or analogies. There are ideas, religious themes, philosophical disquisitions that will have anybody and everybody thinking. Intelligence. It is the intelligence of these movies that has pulled the people in, and it is the intelligence that will keep the people in. This trilogy is appealing to people with good educational background because of its thought provoking themes. It is appealing to mindless masses because of the dazzling visual effects. The best of both worlds. The makings of the best trilogy of all time.
I must get back on track. Brevity got lost somewhere while writing this post. It is "Reloaded" that I must review.
It is the best sequel ever made, to the best sci-fi movie of all time.
The indignation of people who bash this movie is surprising, to say the least. It continues the story of the original with just as much imagination. The visual effects blow the original out of the water. I have observed two of the main reasons why some people didn't like this movie. The first one is that a lot of people found it difficult to follow, to comprehend. The second is that the expectations were just way too high, and no movie could have ever lived up to such hype (even though for many, inlcuding me, it did). This rarity among sci-fi movies actually required its audience to think. And think hard. Some people were turned off by that. That's reasonable. It's all a matter of personal tastes. If people like a lot of brawn and little brains in their movies, then "Reloaded" is not the movie for them. "Reloaded" makes for a perfect combination of brains and brawn.
"Reloaded" gets 10 stars out of 10.
Trust me on this one... - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Matrix Reloaded must be one of the most mind engaging movies ever put on screen. No movie has ever been discussed with as much fanaticism and as many ideas as Reloaded. Yet, there are people out there who are bashing the movie. It is too long, over speechifyied, confusing, boring (I don't know where they came up with that one), pretentious, it has a bad story, too long action sequences, crappy special effects, ridiculous philosophising...I think you get the idea. Now, the movie is definitely not too long. It is long enough to expand on the story and introduce us to all the new characters properly. The "speechifying" (by Morpheus, namely) has its significance. His speech to Zion is obviously meant sa a rally to all its inhabitants, to get them informed and up and ready for the attack. I understand how some people might find this movie confusing. Even I didn't get what the architect said at the end until I saw it again and did some thinking about it. But, isn't the fact that the movie leaves you thinking about it and asking questions a good thing? Or would you rather just go on auto-pilot, disengage from the movie, and have IT answer all the questions for you? As for the story, some people said it wasn't as original as the first Matrix, this and that, blah blah... The fact remains that the original Matrix is one of the most original movies of all time. And plus, considering the nature of the story from the first one, how could anybody expect a sequel to THAT to be as original? We have already met all the main heroes-characters, we know their abilities, we know what the Matrix is, how it works (to some extent)... In my opinion, considering the above mentioned, the Wachowskis definitely came through with a story worthy of a Matrix sequel(s). About the special effects, well, there's always going to be people who just rather prefer the real thing to CGI, no matter how spectacular it looks. The CGI effects have once again raised the bar, just like with the 1st Matrix. New technology and software have been developed just for this movie, and it definitely payed off. Most of the time, it is virtually impossible to tell CGI from the real thing. Regarding the philosophy aspect of the movie - I really hate to sound cliched here, but if people didn't get it, it's not the movie's fault. Like I already said, the movie requires more than one viewing to be completely understood. Of course, there are people who got the philosophy of Reloaded after the first viewing and just simply didn't like it. Well, too bad, because you won't find another movie out there that handles the philosophical issues with much elegance and daring, straight-forward approach as the Matrix Reloaded. It really made me think, and I'm glad, considering all the mindless movies that come out these days, where you can just check your brain at the door, before you walk in the theater. In conclusion, Matrix Reloaded is a worthy sequel of one of the best action sci-fi movies put on screen, and can't wait for Revolutions to wrap it up.
The matrix reloaded - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity are back for the weakest second chapter of the Matrix trilogy. We are in a territory where the sequel gives a bad name to the original Matrix. I hated the idea that Smith could clone himself! How stupid! The story and the acting were good, but the rest totally sucked!! The Wachowiski Brothers messed it up! A good example were the sequel shouldn't be made.

A great sequel to a great original - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
back round:I am not totaly sure if this on was as good as the first but no matter what it was amazing. The Smith Fight scene dragged on a little bit but it was pretty cool to see how many Neo could fend of with a single pole. The other fight scenes were amazing especially the car chase. That car chase is probably the best I have evey seen.
Story: Lots of my friends have talked about how that this had no plot. I agree that it wasn't as good as the perfect first one but it was still outstanding. It was pretty much to get into the Archetect{spell Check} and inform the humans to get ready: the machines are coming.
Acting: I have seen a lot of Keanu's films and until now I have not been very impressed. He did an almost perfect acting performance. And you have to admit Trinity and Morpheous did a fine job too. I think that this movie had great acting overall.
Direction: There is not to much to say about the direction. The Wachowski brothers are great. I am now just hoping that they can keep up with this fascinating series and make Revolutions as good as they did these two.
Visuals: The Matrix offered us many new special effects. I was so excited to see what new stuff the offered us this time. Now I can see why it has been 4 years. The Smith fight had amazing visuals{althuogh overdone}. The fight with the Merovingians guys was my favorite. That gave us a good vision of weapons battles with special effects. Like what I said above, The car chase was crazy. Those twin dudes were sweet. Great fight and visuals.
Overall: I own the MAtrix one and same with This great Sequal. Matrix 1=10 2=9.75
Great movie! - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
If you haven't seen it yet, go NOW! This is one of those films that you have to see on the big screen to truly appreciate. The action sequences are top notch and the story is deep and enveloping. Any Matrix fan will love this sequel.
Could've been better - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Could've been better had there been no Link and the other char side kicks. Story is really getting more n more complex and beautifull. How did Neo manage to feel and destroy centinels when he is not in the Matrix? Is the whole thing a part of Matrix? He is supposed do to all these miracles only when he is a part of the Matrix. One Alero and one Malibu managed to escape the whole car chase w/o getting a scratch and stille keepup with CTS? They shold've cut few action scenes includin the one before Neo meets Oracle.

The matrix continues to rock... - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
The world as we know it. But basic truth is it's only a movie and totally and I mean totally up to you what you get out of these movies. Good interpretation? it's yours! Bad interpretation? It's yours! Mixed feelings? Still yours!.....You went to the movie on your own. You chose to remain and watch you chose to enjoy or dislike it. You chose to make an effort to understand or refuse to understand. Nobody I saw in the theaters I went to had a gun to their heads or chains on their feet. There is a friend of mine who thinks Forrest Gump was the worst movie ever made. And this movie Matrix Reloaded just beat that one out on the alltime box office list. Both movies were enjoyed by a tremendous amount of people and as far as movie making goes that's where the true bottom line is . As someone who also enjoyed this movie, I can appreciate that bottom line for what it's worth.........More movies like this are going to be made!
Excellent movie! - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
I don't know why so many people are bashing this movie. It had a cliffhanger... What's wrong with that? Anyway, I must admit I wasn't liking the movie at first, but as it went on and after I saw it a second time, it made more sense. This movie will challenge you to keep up with its storyline and world because if you don't you will get confused. The action in this movie is top notch and so are the computer graphics. Well, except for the 100+ Smith clone fight. That did look like a video game. Anyway, this movie features an 11 minute car chase scene that is absolutely great! If you loved the first Matrix, it will take you a little while to warm up to this one, but give it a chance! It's worth it!
Greatest movie ever - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
The brothers are awesome. Thought provoking. Visually astounding. Great story telling. Great. Great. Great. I can't wait until Nov. I am just so happy I was able to understand this epic.

The movie to be argued over... - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
The matrix films are a work of pure intelligence, even if the intelligence realises it. The Wachowski brothers know that they have an amazing philosophical film here, and at times they abuse it. But it does draw so many arguments to the Revolutions conclusion that it can be called nothing short of brilliant. Keanu Reeves and the cast helm the film well, and are the only people I can see playing the roles. Hugo Weaving (for me) shines as my favorite part of both movies, and undoubtedly for the third. So many different aspects of the film are intriguing: The very important (semi-mythological) names of characters; the different ending possibilities; the philosophical deeper meanings; and finally the flat out amazing action and how it's all weaved so brilliantly. Small insignificant lines of dialogue may pan out to being the most important part of the third movie. It's brilliant, and amazing, and probably one of the best films of the year. Yes, some flaws are visible, but they're not enough to dull the amazing experience that is (and will be) The Matrix Trilogy.
The matrix: reloaded - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
This movie ruled, best movie I've seen in theaters since...The Matrix. The first 30 minutes in fact blowed. Anything taking place in Zion = boring. But once the movie picks up, it rarely takes a break to let you down, and any boring parts are easily made up for with the incredible action scenes. Neo/Keanu Reeves = He's still the main character, but one of the best scenes takes place when he's not around (a long freeway chase scene.) He can do almost anything he wants within the Matrix, but still for some reason has a bit of trouble warding off about 50 Agent Smiths (Hugo Weaving)....Don't get me wrong he kicks all of their asses (in a very spectacular scene) but come on, he's "The One". Morpheus (Fishburne) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) have their moments, they shine most during the huge chase scene on the freeway, but that's about it for them as far as amazement, they of course are crucial to the story though. Hugo Weaving, as Agent Smith, my personal favorite character. I love his voice, it's EVIL, reminds me of the Unsolved mysterys guy but in more of a "funny evil" type of way. It was amazing seeing Neo fight off about 50 of them, the scene is identifable as a computer enhanced scene, but it's done so well that you don't even care, it looks real enough! Jada Pinkett Smith (As Niobee) Has a very small role in the movie as Morpheus' ex flame, doesn't get much screen time, maybe we'll see more of her in the 3rd film in November, but, she wasn't all too impressing anyway, so I won't be crying if shes not in it much. So The story goes, Neo is trying to get ahold of the missing Oracle to get some guidance after realizing he's "The One" (Not the same "One" From the Jet Li movie of the same name). After finding her, he gets an earful and has some funny dialuge with her and then seeks the keymaker who will help him open the door where all of the answers lie (or so he thinks.) That's the movie in a nutshell, to say anymore would spoil it. Other notable mentions are The Ghost Twin characters, very cool effects used to make them turn into ghost like figures. The Kung Fu seems lacking sometimes, the only scene (action wise) that disappointed me a little was Neos fight with the Oracles bodyguard. They moved a little slow (and I know the Bodyguard is a Martial Artist) and I dunno, the fight seemed more like a space filler. If you liked the first movie you will love this one, the end has a major twist that left a smile on my face when leaving the theater and makes you want to see the final chapter of the trilogy even more. The movie starts off a tad sluggish but once it picks up, you don't even care, you'll be in awe, I loved the movie, I'm seeing it again Friday. By the way, after the credits is a Trailer for the Third Installment. 9/10
They took all the fun out of the first film - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
One of the worst dissapointments of all time for me. What happened to the fun moments of the first film. This movie had action that didn't connect with the overall story, it felt like it was in pieces. I know the third and final film comes out this christmas but that doesn't save this film. What happens when the third is just as bad as the second? I couldn't stand the feeling at the end of the film during the scenes with the creator of the matrix, or design guy(whatever). That was boring, I felt like I was sitting in a class room being forced to listen to a teachers lecture. That was bad direction, bad design. The story should feel like it is flowing, not stoping and starting.
To be avoided! - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Reloaded must be the disappointment of the decade as far as anticipated sequels are concerned. The gap in quality between it and its predecessor is so huge that whether the same people were ACTUALLY involved in both must be seriously doubted. To contrast the two: Matrix: impressive in effects, but still economical ? the effects serve the plot, they do not dominate. / Reloaded: impressive, but achieves exactly the opposite! The whole film feels like it was created as an excuse to show new developments in effects technology. Matrix: dialogues were smart, with an underlying sense of humour that made you smile (?you?re empty?, ?so are you?) / Reloaded: dialogues no longer smart, but ludicrously smart-arsey! They stink of pretentious seriousness and alleged ?knowledge from within?. All they achieve is to collapse under their own pomposity. Matrix: Aesthetically balanced, a modern cyber film-noir (eg. The scene under the bridge where Neo gets in the car). Reloaded: God, where can I start? Zion, a terribly-looking place, that horrible dance/orgy/party or whatever, that was as annoying as was unnecessary, the restaurant orgasm scene. Really, it is pointless to isolate examples: almost everything in it oozed ugliness?. Matrix: Suspense! When Neo died you wondered: can it be? / Reloaded: Boredom? we know he cannot be killed, and then he flies after pointlessly fighting for 10-15 minutes?. Why didn?t he from the start? Matrix: Excellent music / Reloaded: run of the mill techno anyone? Matrix: Dialogues assist the plot they don?t reveal it. We EXPERIENCE what the Matrix is, and thankfully Morpheus? explanation doesn?t last for too long (and thank God, it is aided by visuals) / Reloaded: ENDLESS, BORING, FAST monologues that allegedly explain the film?s essence, whereas in reality all they achieve is split the film in two: visuals on one side, lecture on the other ? no blending of the two?. [contrast the fighting scene between Neo and Morpheus in the Matrix: ?do you think that?s air you?re breathing?? There is no lecture on it, you are left wondering. In Reloaded, everything is explained by some annoying character who babbles for hours! And then people go back for a second viewing to understand what?s going on. And for this reason they claim the film was fantastic?..] Matrix: plot is full of twists and surprises / Reloaded: essentially there is no plot; it feels like watching a video game. ?You get a task set (defend Zion), find the clues (from various characters in the story), then use them to open the door to the big secret (the architect and all he ?reveals? in yet another endless monologue) ? how imaginative, yawn?.. Matrix: Bright, fresh and elegant / Reloaded: Dark, stale, and bloated with self-importance. I could go on for ages; but three words sum my point up: TO BE AVOIDED!!
Disappointing... - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
the dialogue was terrible. it was very annoying listening to all the new characters as well as morpheus (as usual) philosophizing about stuff that nobody even gave a damn about. add to that the ultra-long and important (but uninteresting) speech the architect gives at the end, and you're left all wondering: what happened to neo's promise at the end of the first film? i was expecting this film to elevate further from its groundbreaking premise, to be a truly mind-bending and unique experience... but all we're left with is a confused mess of bigger, more amazing (but unpleasantly long) fight scenes, with boring conversations just squeezed in for good measure. actually, the story is propelled by the dialogue which i could never bring myself to listen to. all in all, this is a visually impressive film, but easily disposable.
Not even half as good as the first matrix - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
If you're into pointless orgies 20 minutes long than this movie might be right up your alley. You will find that some of the fight scenes are cartoonish and acually boring not to mentiong Neo runs away in most of them. They have made the story line so that anything goes and you don't even know if what they think is the real world or are they in a matrix within a matrix. If you're a big fan of the first one than dont go see this one cuse you will think less of the first one. The Terminator would kick Neos ass in a fight. Go see Rise of the Macnines instead.

Worth every penny - great continuation from 1st - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
The Matrix Reloaded works out to be an effective part of the 3-piece saga. As with any sequel, it is hard to duplicate the impact of a movie's predecessor. Reloaded doesn't seem to try. Instead, it paints a darker theme crushing a lot of the hope that made the first Matrix movie so uniform. You could actually feel yourself take a nose dive in the first Matrix, but it ends on an uplifting revelation - HOPE. Not in Reloaded. Just when you think the ride's almost over, you round another corner.
The Wachowski brothers did an excellent job with the visual cinematic effects, even more impressive than last time. They weren't kidding when they said it would be an amazing feat for would-be copycats to try to duplicate its effects!
On the downside, Reloaded does little to impress us with dialogue. There are just too many one-liners (most from Morpheus) that not only get old quick, but even sound a bit corny after a while. Granted, some are great and absolutely necessary - hell, that's Morpheus for you! However, a lot of it could have been thrown out.
Overall, I would have to agree that this movie is a must-see and definitely one of the best summer blockbusters of 2003 so far. Anyone that gives a rating less than a C+ either hates the Matrix storyline altogether, or isn't a fan of Sci-Fi. It would be inappropriate to say that it didn't live up to the first Matrix. It accomplishes quite a bit on its own level...
Great trilogy, something to look back on - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
and till November ,something to look forward to. No clue how somebody could sit through something they did not understand and did not enjoy and then turn around and whine to everybody about how awful they think it was...You'll never catch me at an Opera or an Oprah book club for that matter, because it just doesn't appeal but I wish them the best..... So why would someone sit through a movie he or she could not comprehend and then tell people who have seen it 3 or more times that it's no good...You guys should walk around with helmets if you are going to beat you heads against brick walls all day.....$668 million dollars will always make a great point about this movie....Argue with that......
10 reasons why matrix reloaded is a flop - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
1 Long baffling dialogues. Conversations between Neo and the 'french guy', Architect and Oracle were long-winded and hard to follow. 2 Long, sanitised, boring fight scenes. Neo can simply will bullets to stop and fall to the ground - so why bother fight 5 henchmen for 10 minutes?! 3 Neo vs 100 Agent Smiths for 15 minutes. Boring! Did it have to go for that long? 4 Underground 'cave rave' scene. Why would a high-tech underworld society dress and carry on like a tribe of african nomads?? 5 The remainder of mankind in Zion is white and black - no asians? No indians? Odd, its as if the creators of this film wanted a politically correct look and went too far. 6 Link is miscast. A wisecracking muscly black guy who supposedly can pilot something and understand the Matrix? He strikes me as a gym junky - not a guy who did loads of advanced maths in school... 7 Neo + Trinity romance seems *sooo* tacked on and fake. They dont carry on like lovers, they carry on like robots and the sex scene seemed out of place in this movie. 8 Architect was miscast. I mean the 65yo guy dresses and acts like a retired banker or English professor - not some genius who created the Matrix. Geniuses (sp) are usually eccentric right??? 9 Link's Superman wisecrack and Neo's Superman-style rescue - sorry, i didnt like it, i dont want my attention diverted to other movies during a movie. 10 Computer graphics - did they drive the story or did the story drive them??? Think about it...
You can't explain away $668million - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
Look I don't want to get into the obvious reason a lot of southern based Americans disliked this movie. But I will say that the 400million dollars this movie made in theaters outside USA shows that the movie was entertaining for people without those hangups you guys seem to want to take to your graves. Also those people seem to have stayed awake in school long enough to be able understand a movie like this and enjoy it without having their heads explode from overheating.....
Spectacular! - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
I've seen this movie 5 times (all in the theater, I might add), and I still can't seem to get enough. I agree that it can be a bit difficult to understand the first time because it is quite overwhelming; however, I believe firmly that if you watch it again and pay close attention to the dialogue, you will see the magnificence behind the Matrix Reloaded. The "ending" was rather abrupt, but I must say that this movie was not intended to be a separate movie from Revolutions, the two are one big movie cut into two. Reloaded is filled with so many profundities and discoveries that it would be too much to throw at the audience if coupled with Revolutions. Patience! I thought Carrie-Anne Moss did an incredibly marvelous job playing Trinity, and Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne were splendid as well. I do not think Neo and Morpheus' performances were flawless, but superior nonetheless. I cannot seem to make up my mind about which Matrix I liked better: Matrix or Matrix Reloaded. Each has its strengths: The first matrix was completely fresh and it wow-ed the audience by its new special effects such as Bullet Time (which has been seen in WAY too many movies since). Reloaded is much more involved because there are different twists and surprises; also, reloaded focuses more on the human aspect and the philosophy behind the movie is amazing. All in all, I find that both movies are equal, and I cannot place one above the other. I thought it was unbelievable movie and I absolutely cannot wait until Matrix Revolutions!!! =)
The best film sequel ever made by a long way. - The Matrix Reloaded Reviews
I know this film has received a lot of bad press but I think it is patently ridiculous to level criticism at a film which is likely to be remembered years from now as part of a final piece of work that can be favourably compared in terms of artistic integrity to some of the best works of Shakespeare, MichelAngelo and Wagner. The original Matrix was inspiring, ingenius and laden with breathtaking and groundbreaking action scenes. This sequel has everything you could ever want from the middle part of a trilogy; it has even more ground breaking action complemented by highly intelligent plot twists that fit into a highly cohesive package and leave you gasping to know what will happen in the final part of the trilogy. This film is high on intellectual content and as such is likely only to appeal to those with a strong educational background and interest in deep philosophical issues. That said, the masses can still enjoy the stupendous visual effects and hi-octane action and are likely to leave the cinema buzzing with excitement and anticipation for "Revolutions" even if they been able to understand it. I would just like to finish by thanking you if you have managed to read this review. It has been a pleasure for me to write this and I hope that I have filled you with inspiration and desire as a result of my mad ramblings.
